Hey!
I know this is sudden, but since I couldn’t think of anything else to talk about, I decided to share 2 of my experience with karaoke apps and games that I always use and play.
1. StarMaker
I absolutely love singing and karaoke. Whenever I get the chance, I’ll sing or do karaoke. However, I can’t afford to go to a karaoke place all the time, or I’d go broke! So, I started looking for an app that would let me sing for free, and that’s how I found StarMaker.
StarMaker is a free app that allows users to sing karaoke, record their voices, and share their performances. I’ve been using this app since 2022, so it’s almost been 4 years now, and I’m still loving it. It’s free, has a huge song library, makes it easy to duet with others, and the voice effects and settings are pretty nice too.
Before StarMaker, I used Smule. The downside of Smule was that their free song selection was limited. To access more songs, you needed to purchase them with coins (I don’t exactly remember if they were called coins). You could collect coins through ads, but it was still a hassle. One time, I gathered enough coins to buy a song, only to find that it wasn’t even completed! I felt like I’d wasted my money. You could always subscribe to their monthly pass for better access to songs, but I eventually stopped using Smule because it didn’t fit my needs anymore. Even when I subscribed, it didn’t feel worth it since I don’t sing every day. I
Frustrated with Smule's limitations, particularly the limited free song selection and the hassle of collecting coins for incomplete songs, I decided to explore other karaoke apps. That's when I discovered StarMaker, and it was a game-changer! The experience was 100% better. Besides karaoke, they have features like games, contests, live broadcasting, and even rooms where people can chat or sing together. I was surprised to learn that some people even use the platform to earn money through live broadcasting or by receiving virtual gifts.
This app is great for three types of people: those who want to sing, those who enjoy watching others sing, and those who want to learn to sing. They even have community-created groups, which is kind of like social media.
Overall, it’s been a lot of fun, and I’ve enjoyed the app so much, despite there many bot accounts, especially in the comments. But that doesn’t bother me at all because my main goal is to sing. To be honest, my singing has improved a lot. I've learned to control my breathing better, so I can hold notes longer.
2. Mobile Legends
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (commonly known as ML or MLBB) is a mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, released in 2016.
The gameplay involves two teams of five players competing to destroy the opposing team’s base while defending their own. Each player controls a character known as a "hero," each with unique abilities and roles such as tank, support, assassin, marksman, and mage.
I’ve been playing this game since Season 1, right after its release, and it’s now at Season 34. I play almost every day whenever I get a chance (no ML, no life, for real!). My main roles are usually mage, roam, or marksman, and my absolute favorite hero in the game is Odette. I really love her because she's so powerful in team fights, and her ultimate ability can turn the tide of a battle. Plus, her design is just gorgeous! She really fits my playstyle perfectly and I’m obsessed with her—I’ve played around 7,000 matches with her, and I’m still going strong. Hahaha!
I didn’t even know about the game until my little sister and cousin started playing it back in our village. At first, I wasn’t interested at all, but after trying it just once, I was hooked! The first hero I tried was Layla, a basic marksman, but I struggled with keeping the right distance to be effective. Even though I struggled with Layla, it led me to discover my love for mid-lane heroes like Odette.
Overall, Mobile Legends is a great game! While the game can be a storage hog and battery drainer, the exciting gameplay and constant updates keep me coming back for more.
These are two of my all-time favorite apps on my phone, and that’s the end of this post! I hope you enjoyed reading about them. If you ever try them out, let me know what you think—maybe we can even sing or game together sometime!
