Remember When Blogger Was Fun?

I’ve been thinking about changing everything on this blog because some of the gadgets are no longer functioning. Even the header isn’t showing up.

That got me reflecting on the main reason why I haven’t updated my blog in the past few years. I think it all started when Blogger changed their HTML system, and most things broke because of it. No longer could I use the tutorials that worked with the old version.

I still remember the time when I was really into Blogger. Since it was like an online diary that you could customize—your layout, background, font, everything—it became a playground for me. Customizing my blog made me feel like a digital IT expert—like someone behind the code, you know? Can you imagine visiting someone's blog and seeing their cursor turn into glittery stars or hearts? Not to mention, you could add a song to your blog. There was also the chatbox, where people could leave comments like, "Hi, xx singgah sini!" and you could visit their blog by clicking their name in the chatbox! And there were contests for the prettiest blog, coolest blog, neatest blog, and so on within the Blogger community 😆 I even remember winning one of the contests I participated in!

So, can you imagine how much fun it was?

Back then, many bloggers did tutorials, but I always followed Lyssa Faizureen. She had so many cool features in her tutorials and was always up to date with the newest things we could try. It was really easy—just follow the instructions, but you always needed to back up first, because it was all trial and error. Your blog would be doomed (for real) if the code wasn't compatible with your blog’s HTML. Actually, most of what I did here was based on her guides.

What memories! It was so much fun, until Blogger decided to take all that fun away. I was so frustrated with the changes and tried to find any tutorials for the newest version, but I couldn’t find anything. I think that was the start of the downfall for this blog.

Now that I’m revisiting this blog, I’ve decided to make some changes again, but I need to learn and search for tutorials—if there are any.
