I’m not sure if people are still writing or reading blogs like they used to. Let's be honest, in the age of TikTok and Instagram, who still reads blogs? Probably not many! But, hey, I'm bringing it back anyway.
But, hey, it's fun to keep a bit of internet history alive, right? Nostalgia points!
So, anyway! I decided to write this blog to update myself on everything that’s happened this year—what’s new, what’s changed, and so on.
Looking back at 2023, it's clear that short-form video has taken over. TikTok, YouTube Shorts – everyone's watching them. (Including me, I'll admit!). These were once dismissed as "trash," but especially TikTok has become one of the biggest platforms. It’s a place where singers rise to fame, influencers get their start, and online shopping has become huge. In fact, our country really embraced online shopping, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2022). Since then, the internet and online platforms have become essential to daily life. Whether it's shopping, ordering food, getting deliveries, booking taxis, securing queue numbers for official matters, attending meetings, or even selling stuff, it’s all happening online now.
Before COVID-19, I think the internet was primarily used by younger people for entertainment and studies, and by businesspeople for work. After the pandemic, though, older generations had to adapt as well. It was almost like they were "forced" to use online services since everything moved online. In short, a lot has changed, and we’ve had to adapt to this new lifestyle somehow.
Speaking of COVID-19, alhamdulillah, the disease has slowed down, and most of us have built some immunity to it. It’s almost like a regular fever now—not as deadly as it once was. But even though it’s not as dangerous, I still hope it completely disappears and never comes back.
The reason I’m writing today is that I accidentally stumbled upon someone’s blog, and it made me remember mine. So here I am, back at it! As I read through my old posts, it was super nostalgic, and some of the posts I couldn’t believe I was capable of writing. Most of them are cringe-worthy, though. I mean, what was up with all the random GIFs and cheesy quotes? What was I thinking?! But hey, I guess it’s part of my journey, and that's how I used to write. It’s cringe, but it aligns with my age. š
To be honest with you, this post was supposed to go up in December 2023, but I kept it in the drafts and forgot about it. A year has passed, and now it’s early 2025! Crazy how time flies, right? But since I’ve written it, and with a little help from ChatGPT for my grammar, I decided to just post it anyway. So, that's why you see it in 2025 instead of the actual year it was meant for. Hahaha.
